Free Webinar: The Age-Old Debate: Youth vs. Experience, A Discussion of Age Discrimination in the Workplace

Free event! 1.5 hours Implicit Bias self-study available. Presented by the CLA Racial Justice Committee and the San Francisco Superior Court Elimination of Bias Committee, and cosponsored by the Bar Association of San Francisco and Region IX of the National Bar Association.

This program will explore the intersection of implicit bias and age discrimination in the workplace. Attendees will learn strategies for addressing age discrimination in the workplace.

David A. Lowe is Managing Partner of the San Francisco-based law firm Rudy, Exelrod, Zieff, and Lowe, LLP, where he represents senior executives, technical leaders, professionals, and other notable figures in employment disputes and executive employment contract and severance negotiations.  Fortune magazine named him “Silicon Valley’s go to lawyer” for high-profile employment disputes, and he has achieved numerous landmark settlements and jury verdicts for his clients.

Carly Roszkowski is the Vice President of Financial Resilience Programming at AARP, where she leads strategy and outcome development within Financial Resilience and the Work and Jobs issue area. She helps individuals over the age of 50 obtain and maintain the level of employment they need or desire by increasing the competitiveness of 50-plus workers in the labor market, improves access to all forms of work opportunities for the 50-plus, and helps to eliminate age discrimination in the workforce. 

San Francisco Superior Court Judge Stephen Murphy is a former plaintiff’s employment attorney, and the author of several legal thriller novels.  After graduating from USF Law, Judge Murphy worked for several years with Bianco, Brandi, & Jones, a partnership of USF alumni that originally focused on personal injury and gradually transitioned into employment law. In 1999, Judge Murphy started his own firm in employment law and was named Trial Lawyer of the Year in 2008 by the San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association and a Top 100 Lawyer in Northern California by SuperLawyers.  Judge Murphy has served on the San Francisco Superior Court since 2017.
