Annual Meeting Student Reporter Program

For Rising 2L and 3L Law Students

The California Lawyers Association is seeking rising 2Ls and 3Ls to serve as Student Reporters for the CLA Annual Meeting being held in Universal City, California September 11-13, 2025. We need your help keeping our members up to date on laws, news, and issues of interest CLA-wide.

What You’ll Get

• Complimentary conference registration for the 2025 Annual Meeting. 

(Since travel and lodging costs are not included, this opportunity is likely best for students residing in the Los Angeles area.)

• Opportunity to show your writing and speaking skills to prospective employers
• Opportunity to learn about a wide range of legal issues from distinguished practitioners and judges
• Networking opportunities
• Mentorship and coaching in the preparation, writing, and editing processes

What You’ll Do

• Attend the conference sessions
• Post in your own social media during assigned programs and events using the #CLA_AnnualMeeting2025 hashtag
• Take and post photographs throughout in-person programs
• Author a short recap article after the Annual Meeting to publish on the CLA website, eNews, or other publications as appropriate
• Present your recap at a virtual Board of Representatives or Section Executive Committee monthly meeting following the program
• Serve as a student ambassador for CLA during and around the Annual Meeting

Eligibility

• You must be currently enrolled in an ABA or CBE accredited California law school as a rising 2L or 3L (rising 4L and 5L students in extended programs are also eligible). 
• You must be a member of CLA. Membership in up to three Sections is FREE for law students. If you aren’t already a member, you can sign up online with Law Student Enrollment Form.
