Nonprofit Organizations Committee: Conference Call on October 15

The Nonprofit Organizations Committee is pleased to announce our upcoming presentation:

Gift Acceptance Policies: Why, When, What, How, and Who
by
Barbara Rhomberg,
Kavanagh Rhomberg, LLP

October 15, 2020 at 10:00 a.m.

A gift acceptance policy is one of those things that every charity is supposed to have—but why?  This program will explore the role of gift acceptance policies, discuss the topics that a gift acceptance policy should cover, and consider the pitfalls a gift acceptance policy can help your clients avoid.

Barbara Rhomberg is a partner at Kavanagh Rhomberg LLP, a Bay Area law firm that represents nonprofit organizations and their charitable donors on nonprofit governance, tax exempt status, and charitable giving issues.  She is a former Board member of the Northern California Planned Giving Council, where she first presented on gift acceptance policies over a decade ago, and currently serves on the Board of Community Initiatives, a fiscal sponsor based in Oakland.

Following Barbara’s presentation, the Nonprofit Organizations Committee will continue our regular meeting with announcements, updates, and discussion topics of interest to nonprofit organization attorneys.
