Nonprofit Organizations Committee: Conference Call on November 18

Please share:

The Nonprofit Organizations Committee is pleased to announce our upcoming presentation:

Changing the Purpose of Yesterday’s Gifts
November 18, 2021 at 10:00 a.m.

Please join the Nonprofit Organizations Committee for a program on the topic, Changing the Purpose of Yesterday’s Gifts, to be presented by Barbara Rhomberg.  Gifts that are restricted to a particular purpose can be a mixed blessing.  Sometimes charities wind up with endowment funds or other restricted funds that are difficult to use.  Other times, it’s the donors (or their family members) who change their minds, and ask to redirect their previous donations to a different use.

Barbara Rhomberg is partner of Kavanagh Rhomberg LLP, a Northern California law firm that represents nonprofit organizations and their charitable donors on the unique legal issues of the nonprofit sector, including forming nonprofit organizations and obtaining tax-exempt status, planned and charitable giving, limits on lobbying campaign intervention for exempt organizations, grant compliance, endowments and donor-restricted funds, and nonprofit corporate governance.

*This program has been approved for 1 hour of MCLE credit by the California Community Foundation.  The California Lawyers Association is not the provider of this MCLE credit

Following the presentation, the Nonprofit Organizations Committee will continue our regular meeting with announcements, updates, and discussion topics of interest to nonprofit organization attorneys.
