The Nonprofit Organizations Committee is pleased to announce our upcoming presentation:

Navigating the New Normal:
Legal Considerations for Nonprofits During the Pandemic

by
Corinne Gartner,
Delfino Madden O’Malley Coyle & Koewler LLP

November 19, 2020 at 10:00 a.m.

This program will cover selected legal issues affecting nonprofit and tax-exempt organizations operating in California during the COVID-19 pandemic.  Topics will include nonprofit governance during the pandemic (including discussion of director/officer fiduciary duties), legal considerations for fundraising and accessing endowment funds during the pandemic, and liability/contractual issues related to COVID-19.

Corinne Gartner is a partner at Delfino Madden O’Malley Coyle & Koewler in Sacramento, where she practices in the firm’s nonprofit and tax-exempt organization practice group. She serves as both general and special counsel to a wide variety of nonprofit and tax-exempt organizations on issues ranging from entity formation and obtaining tax-exempt status, to corporate governance and operations/compliance matters, to restructuring, mergers, and other complex business transactions. Before becoming an attorney, Corinne had a career in the nonprofit sector, holding fundraising and marketing positions at several arts-oriented nonprofits. She currently serves as a director and officer of Fairytale Town, a nonprofit children’s play park and outdoor children’s museum in Sacramento, and is the current chair of the Nonprofit Organizations Committee of the Business Law Section of the California Lawyers Association.

Following Corinne’s presentation, the Nonprofit Organizations Committee will continue our regular meeting with announcements, updates, and discussion topics of interest to nonprofit organization attorneys.
