Last month CLA moved into its new, permanent office in Sacramento and at the same time marked the first week of being fully staffed. Our Associate Executive Director Tricia Horan and her team did an extraordinary job with the move and with identifying and helping to hire our new colleagues. Of course, there are still punch-list items to fix in the new space and we’re still figuring some things out but, on balance, the logistics were smooth. Read more

Betty J. Williams, treasurer of the California Lawyers Association, received the prestigious V. Judson Klein award from CLA’s Taxation Section last month. The award is presented to the top tax attorney in California every year since 1978. Past recipients include prominent tax lawyers such as Charles P. Attorneys will be needed to help staff information hotlines and provide direct legal services through various California legal services programs and area law schools.
