Jeffrey Aaron has been the Public Defender of Mendocino County for many years. Previously, he was in the San Bernardino Public Defender’s Office for over a dozen years, during which time he moved from a line Deputy Public Defender to a Chief Deputy and spent six years in the Death Penalty Defense Unit. He was in the Office of the Federal Public Defender for the Central District of California for about 13 years, moving from a line deputy to the Directing Attorney for the Eastern Division. He has also been in private practice and on the Criminal Justice Act Panel. He has tried around 200 state and 24 federal trials.
