This presentation discusses the proposed new and amended Rules of Professional Conduct that were recently submitted to the California Supreme Court. If approved by the Supreme Court, these 70 proposed Rules would replace the 46 Rules of Professional Conduct that currently govern the conduct of attorneys in California. This presentation focuses on those Rules, of particular interest to litigators, that propose controversial or important changes to the current Rules or impose new obligations in California. All attorneys in the State should be aware of these proposed changes.
