Please share:

December 9, 2020 @ 12:00 pm 1:00 pm

This program offers 1 participatory MCLE credit.

On November 3, 2020, California voters voted to pass the California Privacy Rights Act, which makes significant changes to the California Consumer Privacy Act, which went into effect on January 1, 2020. This two-webinar series will cover the major differences between the two laws, provide an analysis of the new consumer rights provided under the CPRA, and what businesses should do now to prepare for when CPRA goes into effect. Since the CCPA is going to continue to be in effect until 2023, this webinar series will also provide a practical checklist for what businesses must do now to comply with the CCPA.

Speaker: Mary Stone Ross

Moderator: Jeewon Kim Serrato

Mary Stone Ross is a nationally recognized expert in consumer privacy. She was president of Californians for Consumer Privacy, a committee that put a statewide initiative on the 2018 California ballot. The initiative led to the unanimous passage by the California legislature of AB 375, the CCPA, to date, the most comprehensive consumer privacy law in the United States. Mary also served as a lead against Proposition 24, the California Privacy.

Jeewon Serrato is partner in the San Francisco office and co-lead of the Digital Transformation and Data Economy team at BakerHostetler. Prior to joining Baker, Jeewon served as chief privacy executive for two major public companies and as legislative counsel to the US Member of Congress.
