Grow Your Leadership Book Club

Many lawyers feel hesitant to try meditation, which can seem alien and inaccessible from the vantage point of a professional culture that places great value on logic and reason. The authors of The Anxious Lawyer describe how meditation and mindfulness practices support a more effective and enjoyable legal practice as well as better self-understanding, more rewarding relationships, and a deeper feeling of connection with the world. The Anxious Lawyer provides a straightforward 8-week introductory program on meditation and mindfulness, created by lawyers for lawyers. The book covers instruction on simple meditation techniques; guidance for establishing a daily meditation and mindfulness practice; examples and research; practical tools; and more.

We hope many of our members try working through all or part of the 8-week process with us so we can talk about our experiences on August 28. Please consider joining us even if you do not get through all (or any) of the 8-week process. As we discuss the book, we will share our successes, struggles, barriers, and more related to attorney mindfulness and well-being.
