This program is designed as an update on pending litigation at the intersection of artificial intelligence and antitrust, focusing on cases involving claims of algorithmic collusion in violation of Section 1 of the Sherman Act. Seasoned practitioners from the plaintiffs and defense bar will have a roundtable discussion updating the audience on divergent rulings at the district court level and the state of play at the appellate level on various legal challenges to algorithmic collusion.
Dee Bansal is a litigation partner at Cooley LLP, resident in Washington D.C. Dee is a trial lawyer, focusing on defending clients in high-stakes antitrust litigation, including complex class actions, and in investigations brought by the Department of Justice, the Federal Trade Commission and State AGs related to claims of monopolization, restraint of trade and unfair and deceptive practices. She also provides antitrust counseling and defends corporate clients in connection with mergers and acquisitions.

Swathi Bojedla is a partner in Hausfeld’s Washington, DC office. From initial case investigations through trial, Swathi has represented the firm’s clients in all aspects of litigation. She has worked on some of the highest-profile class action antitrust cases in recent years, recovering over $3 billion in settlement awards for the firm’s clients. Swathi currently serves as Court-appointed Co-Lead Counsel in In re RealPage, Inc., Rental Software Antitrust Litigation, where she represents a class of renters who are alleged to have been harmed by algorithmic price-fixing in the multifamily rental market.

Jesse-Justin Cuevas is an in-demand trial lawyer representing both plaintiffs and defendants in high stakes, complex commercial litigation across the country. Named a Top 100 Lawyer in California by the Daily Journal (2024), On The Rise – Top 40 Young Lawyer by the American Bar Association (2023), a Trailblazers Plaintiffs’ Lawyers by National Law Journal (2022, ALM), and a Rising Star of the Plaintiffs Bar by National Law Journal’s Elite Trial Lawyers (2021, ALM), Cuevas has tried multiple cases and secured landmark wins and settlements for her diverse portfolio of clients who range from Fortune 100 companies to small businesses and individuals.
In the antitrust space, Cuevas currently represents plaintiffs in a putative antitrust class action against several extended-stay hotels and software companies in connection with their use of a pricing algorithm product to set guest room rates and occupancy levels. She is also defending CDK Global, LLC from an antitrust suit concerning the automotive dealer-management-system industry. In 2023, Cuevas helped secure a first-of-its-kind dismissal of the FTC’s antitrust challenge to Intercontinental Exchange, Inc.’s (ICE) proposed $11+ billion acquisition of Black Knight, Inc., just 108 days after Susman Godfrey entered the case and weeks before trial was set to begin.

Natasha Fernández-Silber is a Partner at Edelson PC, where she is Chair of the firm’s Antitrust practice group. She is based in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Natasha’s work focuses on anticompetitive practices in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries. Among her active matters, she currently serves as interim Co-Lead Class Counsel in In re Multiplan Health Insurance Provider Litigation, No. 24-md-6795 (N.D. Ill.), a price-fixing suit brought on behalf of a proposed class of healthcare providers against major insurers.
Prior to joining Edelson PC, Natasha was a partner at a litigation boutique specializing in generic drug suppression cases involving “pay-for-delay” deals and other anti-competitive schemes. She has also represented purchasers of e-cigarettes, textbooks, pesticides, and other consumer products. Previously, Natasha clerked for the Honorable Ann Claire Williams on the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. She was also an associate at the law firm Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz, where she focused on restructuring and finance matters.

Minna Naranjo focuses on antitrust and complex litigation matters. She has worked on litigation, investigation, and counseling matters in many industries including pharmaceutical, technology, airline, oil and gas, and ride-sharing. Her experience includes multidistrict litigation, class action and direct action defense, litigation against the US Department of Justice (DOJ), the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), and state attorneys general, and counseling on matters spanning cartel and monopolization, breach of contract, fraud, and unfair competition. She leads antitrust initiatives on algorithmic pricing and artificial intelligence (AI) issues in various industries.
