The Antitrust and Consumer Protection Section organizes and sponsors many programs and events. This includes Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit opportunities, co-sponsorships of programs with other bar associations and law schools, the annual Golden State Institute, and the annual Celebrating Women in Competition Law program.

    This program provides California tax attorneys with a practical overview of the Canadian tax issues that can arise when U.S. SaaS companies sell to Canadian customers. The session reviews how Canadian tax authorities analyze cross-border digital services, when implementation or support activities may create permanent establishment exposure under the Canada–U.S. tax treaty, and how contractual and operational facts affect the outcome.
