LETTER FROM THE CHAIR
Written by Cathryn S. Gawne Chair
Hello, Business Law Section Members and Friends:
Welcome to the 2023-2024 term of the California Lawyers Association!
I am very honored to serve as your Chair for the next eleven months-and more than a bit daunted by the formidable challenge of following in the footsteps of our dynamic former Chair, Chris Passarelli! During his term as Chair, Chris was instrumental in leading our Section through times of transition: the emergence of the BLS from its Zoom cocoon into hybrid as well as exclusively inperson meetings; the expansion of opportunities for meaningful participation in the BLS and its Standing Committees; and the ongoing exploration of new ways of creating and delivering the kind of information and services that our members require and desire. Because of Chris’ efforts, our Section is in a much stronger place with a steady focus on the future. Chris, on behalf of all BLS colleagues and members, thank you for a tremendous year!
