Liz Travis Allen

We are proud to announce that Liz Travis Allen has been selected as the 2026 California Privacy Lawyer of the Year. Liz is a leading force in California privacy law, and this recognition honors her exceptional contributions to privacy regulation, innovation, and public service.

About Liz Travis Allen

Liz Travis Allen is an attorney at the California Privacy Protection Agency (CalPrivacy), the nation’s first stand-alone privacy regulator. In her role, she is spearheading the implementation of the Delete Act, one of California’s most significant recent privacy initiatives.

Liz serves as product and regulatory counsel and as the de facto product and project manager for DROP (Delete Request and Opt-out Platform)—the nation’s first centralized platform that allows consumers to submit a single deletion request to all registered data brokers. DROP officially launched on January 1, 2026, marking a major milestone in consumer privacy rights and enforcement.

With more than a decade of legal experience across regulatory practice, EdTech, and privacy consulting, Liz brings a rare combination of deep legal expertise and hands-on product development experience. Prior to joining CalPrivacy, she served as a Privacy Law Fellow at ZwillGen and as Product Counsel at Clever, where she founded the legal working group responsible for implementing student data privacy protections.

Liz is CIPP/US certified and is admitted to practice in California and Washington State. She is widely respected for her leadership, technical fluency, and commitment to advancing meaningful privacy protections.

Liz at the 2026 Privacy Summit

Liz will be honored with the 2026 California Privacy Lawyer of the Year Award at the 2026 Privacy Summit, where she will be recognized for her groundbreaking work in privacy regulation and consumer protection. Her leadership on the Delete Act and DROP exemplifies the evolving role of privacy law in shaping real-world outcomes for Californians and beyond.
