Letter from the Chair
I hope everybody is staying cool out there!
In the coming weeks and months we expect to have more webinars coming your way! We’re working directly with representatives of the European Patent Office and will hopefully have some exciting news on that front soon. We are also working with the USPTO on virtual trademark programs for later this year. Finally, we expect to have some in-person networking events coming in a few months which are always great opportunities to meet fellow IP attorneys. Keep your eyes peeled, good things are coming soon!
On the topic of good things, we have a new way to keep track of the goings on at the IP Section. Our new LinkedIn page can be found at this link and we will be moving towards making it our primary communications channel over the next few months. If you’re interested in our events and IP news, please do give it a follow.
As always, if you are interested in working more hands-on with IP-related programming, the simplest way is to join or volunteer with one of our many Interest Groups. We have interest groups ranging from Copyright, Patent, and Trademark to more practice-focused groups such as Entertainment and Sports Law, Licensing and Technology Transactions, Artificial Intelligence, and Technology, Internet, and Privacy. There’s sure to be something to suit your particular practice. We’re also always interested in authors for New Matter if there’s a topic you’re interested in writing on!
Finally, if you have a specific topic you would be interested in seeing turned into a webinar or other programming, or simply want to know how to get more involved, don’t hesitate to reach out to me. I am always only an email away and I love hearing from our members! You can reach me here.
All the best,
Jon Lurie
