Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach 21500 Pacific Coast Hwy, Huntington BeachThe California Lawyers Association will re-launch the Solo & Small Firm Summit to provide several days of sought-after educational programs designed to address the needs of legal professionals who work in a solo or small firm practice — from business management and technology to substantive law updates in areas commonly practiced in a solo or small firm setting. The Summit agenda also will include networking events, and a vendor showcase with products and services unique to the solo or small firm practitioner.

What actually goes on in our brains in a distracted world? Brains are primed to process incoming stimuli for survival – but not for today’s “wired” technological world of smartphones, email, and instant communications. With overwhelming amounts of information and distractions, it is hard to give focus to critical cognitive tasks. And, those distractions increase our stress and may increase depression and anxiety. We’ll discuss how to improve our competence as attorneys by better understanding how to conquer distractions, reduce stress and anxiety, and improve our communication and decision making.
