What’s Up With Us

February 19 @ 12:00 pm 1:00 pm

Free event! Self-study credit available.

What’s Up With Us! is the Real Property Law Section’s monthly webinar for new case law and section updates.  This month co-hosts Neil Kalin and Michael Simkin will interview 2 special guests and also discuss the 4 unique cases and the intersection of law and policy.  Tune in to learn about some new cases and Real Property Section events.  As usual, attendees will earn one hour of free self-study MCLE and some practical ways to approach real property legal issues.  Plus, every attendee has a chance to win a gift card for one hour of MCLE credit from the huge pre-recorded RPLS MCLE library. You will be provided with a copy of the presentation material and your self-study certificate after the meeting.

This month’s cases cover the following:

  1. Whether an insurance company inspector can sue the insured homeowner for an injury suffered by the inspector on the insured’s property?
  2. Whether a disabled claimant who is found to not be an actual customer of a business, and that claimant’s lawyer can be sued for malicious prosecution?
  3. Whether the California Fair Plan can be required to offer liability insurance in addition to property damage coverage?
  4. Whether leafletting in a shopping center is still protected speech, or is a shopping center no longer the public square that it used to be in the days of Valley Girls?

We are committed to accessibility! Virtual events are equipped with closed captioning. To request an in-person accommodation, send us a note at accessibility@calawyers.org or contact us at 916-516-1760 for assistance.
