Janice Sperow

Jeff Simes

Jeff Simes, a litigation partner and former Chair of Goodwin’s Litigation Department, has a diverse practice that includes complex commercial disputes and intellectual property litigation. Although he practices most frequently in tribunals that address complex business issues (such as New York and Delaware), his practice is international and his clients range from Global 500 companies to emerging technology and life sciences companies. Jeff regularly handles the gamut of business and corporate litigations and arbitrations including commercial, intellectual property, post-closing and “busted deal” disputes, shareholder derivative actions, partnership disputes and other matters involving allegations of business torts, fraud and breaches of contract or fiduciary duties. He has extensive experience in international and domestic arbitrations, intellectual property disputes, securities and corporate governance disputes, government and internal investigations, and partnership and commercial claims and disputes. Jeff has worked on significant civil cases in federal and state courts at the trial and appellate level throughout the country, as well as in arbitral forums in the United States and abroad. Jeff has experience as a Special Assistant District Attorney for the Middlesex County (MA) District Attorney’s Office where he tried numerous criminal cases. In addition to being an experienced trial lawyer, Jeff also has a successful appellate practice. He has served on Goodwin’s Management, Executive, and Partnership Committees. He maintains an active pro bono practice, with focus on education, homelessness and poverty issues, and has been recognized by the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar, and the Legal Aid Society for his efforts.

Morris Dweck

Morris Dweck is an Associate in the New York office of Labaton Keller Sucharow LLP. With nearly a decade of experience, Morris focuses on representing consumers around the country in a variety of important and unprecedented complex matters. Morris is recognized as a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers, a Thomson Reuters publication. Before joining Labaton Keller Sucharow, Morris was an Associate at Bernstein Liebhard LLP. Prior to that, he was an Associate at Rheingold, Guiddra, Ruffo, & Plotkin LLP. Morris has successfully overseen thousands of litigations and managed high-profile cases against Roundup, DePuy, ASR, Stryker, and Benicar, among others. In addition to his many legal achievements, Morris is also a Ritual Committee Member at the Congregation Magen David of Manhattan. Morris earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where he was a Notes Editor for the Journal of Public Interest, Policy and Ethics. While in law school, Morris interned with the Honorable Marsha Steinhardt at the New York State Supreme Court. He received his Bachelor of Arts, summa cum laude, from Macaulay Honors College at Brooklyn College.

Tacy Zysk

Tacy Zysk serves as an Assistant Vice President of Case Operations at the American Arbitration Association, where she leads the team managing daily administration of AAA’s Mass Arbitration caseloads. With nearly a decade of experience at the AAA, she is recognized for her innovative leadership and expertise in mass arbitration dispute resolution. Tacy oversees caseloads nationwide and plays a key role in shaping operational strategy and procedural enhancements. She is based out of AAA’s Northeast Case Management Center in Johnston, Rhode Island.

Kyle Tayman

Kyle Tayman is a partner in the firm’s Financial ServicesConsumer Financial Services Enforcement and LitigationFintechData, Privacy & Cybersecurity, and Digital Currency & Blockchain practices. Kyle regularly represents clients in the financial services, banking, technology, AI, digital marketing and other industries in government investigations and enforcement actions, complex consumer financial and privacy class actions, mass arbitrations, and complex litigation. He frequently counsels clients on regulatory compliance enforcement and litigation risk avoidance with respect to federal and state consumer protection, privacy and marketing laws. Kyle is the lead editor of Goodwin’s Consumer Finance Insights blog, which is the marketplace’s first resource for real-time reporting on the full range of public federal and state consumer finance enforcement activity. He regularly publishes and speaks on current enforcement and litigation trends, serves on the firm’s committee for attorney development, and is a board member for a national non-profit focused on legal issues for homelessness. He joined Goodwin in 2008.

Kathleen Smalley

Kathleen Smalley brings more than 40 years of experience – in business roles as a corporate officer, general counsel, director, and trustee; in transactional practice; in trial and appellate litigation; and in government service – to an ADR and consulting practice focused on resolution without the delay, expense, and inconvenience inherent in litigation. A member of the AAA large and complex, commercial, and consumer panels and the FINRA panel, she has arbitrated, as sole arbitrator, panel member, or panel chair, a wide variety of disputes covering many legal disciplines. She formerly served as general counsel of public and private companies; a director of a public company; a trustee of CalSTRS, and a partner in law firms. She has taught classes at Harvard, Yale, Stanford, and UCLA Law Schools and will teach in 2024 at Harvard’s Graduate School of Design. She served as a law clerk to Justice Sandra Day O’Connor at the US Supreme Court and to Judge John Minor Wisdom of the Fifth Circuit. She graduated from Harvard Law School (JD) and Rice University (BA). She is a member of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals, the American Law Institute, the American College of Mortgage Lawyers, and the Council on Foreign Relations.
