Our speaker will share the basic terms of the current IP framework, focusing on what businesses need to know to protect and enforce their rights in today’s Russian and Ukrainian market.

Riikka is a Master of Laws and European Trademark Attorney in the Head Office of patent and trademark agency Papula-Nevinpat in Helsinki, Finland. She joined Papula-Nevinpat in 1995. She is a senior partner of the company and a member of the management team and board of directors.
Riikka has 30 years of experience in Intellectual Property Rights protection and especially in trademark laws and practices. Riikka has specialized in trademark legislation and practice in Finland, Europe, and Eurasia, including Russia and Ukraine. Riikka has wide experience in trademark strategy, trademark license and assignment agreement drafting, protection of well-known trademarks, registration processes as well as infringement and litigation at the Patent Offices and Courts. In addition, she is the head of Papula-Nevinpat’s Legal Team.
Riikka’s articles have been published in a number of major publications (such as World Intellectual Property Review (WIPR), Trademark Lawyer, Expert Guide Intellectual Property, Trade Mark Yearbook, IP at the Boarder, Litigation and Enforcement Focus, Managing Intellectual Property, IP Strategy Yearbook).
Riikka is also a popular speaker in conferences and seminars, for example at the East-Cham, Talentum Lakikoulutus, IPR Nordic Forum, IPR University Center, INTA Table Topics, WIPR North America Trademark Conference and by a number of other presentations in seminars and training events.
Riikka is currently a member of the International Trade Committee and Supervisory Board at ECTA (previously INTA Enforcement Committee 2014-2015 and INTA Trademark Office Practices Committee 2018-2019) She is ranked in the 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2024 editions of WTR1000 – the world’s leading trademark practitioners. Riikka has been chosen as one of the 50 Influential Women in IP 2022 and 2023 (WIPR Diversity).
