What a company does in the first 48 hours of a data breach will set the stage for three major confrontations – regulatory investigations, private lawsuits, and PR damage control. From having a detailed and well understood Incident Response Plan in place, to understanding when and how to call in law enforcement, data breach vendors, and outside counsel, this webinar will cover best practices and tips for the in-house counsel hoping never to need them.

Gerald Bessette is a Managing Director at Ankura’s Washington D.C. office, where he provides incident response services for clients ranging from Fortune 150 corporations to small privately held companies. Prior to joining Ankura, Mr. Bessette enjoyed a 24 year career as an FBI special agent and executive manager, holding numerous leadership positions within the FBI’s Cyber Division. Mr. Bessette is a CISM, Certified Chief Information Security Officer, FBI certiied Crisis Management Coordinator, and is SANS GIAC Information Security Fundamentals certified.
Timothy Sesler brings extensive and diverse in-house experience from the financial, insurance and automotive industries. His specialties include Privacy & Information Data Security, all aspects of internal review & compliance, and extensive knowledge of compliance requirements relating to DNC, TCPA, TSR, CAN-SPAM, and GLBA.
