Fenton Melvin

Melvin Felton II is a Partner at Sanders Roberts LLP. He represents corporations and individuals in a wide range of employment and business litigation matters. Mr. Felton has extensive experience advising in all stages of litigation, mediation, and arbitration, having successfully resolved nearly 200 matters in a variety of different industries, including construction, professional services, retail, finance, healthcare, manufacturing, and real estate. Mr. Felton is very active within the legal community. He is the President of the Langston Bar Association and teaches the Legal Aspects of Human Resource Administration at California State University, Long Beach. Mr. Felton has spoken on panels regarding important employment cases and voir dire strategies. He has been published on numerous employment law-related issues.

Mr. Felton is a recipient of the National Bar Association’s 2022 “40 under 40 Nation’s Best Advocates” award. The LA Times b2b recognized him as a 2022 “Legal Visionary” in the Business of Law Magazine. He was recognized among the Los Angeles Business Journal’s 2022 and 2024 ‘Leaders of Influence: Minority Attorneys’ and among the Los Angeles Business Journal’s ‘2021 Leaders in Law Nominees.’ The Daily Journal named him to its prestigious list of 2021 ‘Top 40 Lawyers Under Age 40’. Mr. Felton was selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® (2025 and 2026 Editions) in the area of Litigation – Labor & Employment. Mr. Felton was recognized as a Southern California Super Lawyer in 2025 and as a Southern California Super Lawyers Rising Star from 2020-2023; In 2023, Mr. Felton was recognized among the Top 100 Super Lawyers Rising Stars. The National Bar Association and Black Entertainment and Sports Lawyers Association have also recognized Mr. Felton for legal excellence. Mr. Felton earned a BA from the University of Southern California, and a juris doctor from Columbia Law School.

Michael Robbins is President of EXTTI, Incorporated—a company he founded 20 years ago. The professionals at EXTTI perform services as Expert Witnesses, workplace trainers and workplace and Title IX investigators. EXTTI professionals are located in California, New York and New Jersey. Mr. Robbins has conducted and/ or supervised well over 500 workplace investigations. He has served as an expert witness in more than 600 employment cases—mostly on workplace investigation issues. Also, he has served as a Consent Decree Monitor in Federal District Courts. Prior to forming EXTTI, he worked as a Labor & Employment Attorney for 20 years. This included four years as in-house counsel in the entertainment industry, close to eight years at the international law firm, Pepper Hamilton, LLP (where he was a Partner) and close to eight years at an entertainment firm, Rosenfeld, Meyer, & Susman, LLP in Beverly Hills (where he became Managing Partner of the firm).

Mr. Robbins is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of San Diego State University, where he graduated as Valedictorian—first in a graduating class of 5,000. In 1978, Mr. Robbins received his JD degree from the UCLA School of Law. While at UCLA, he worked for the UCLA Institute of Industrial Relations.

Mr. Robbins is Past President of the Association of Workplace Investigators (AWI), a founding member and Past President of the Society of Independent Workplace Investigators (SIWI), is a Past Chair of the Los Angeles County Bar Association’s Labor & Employment Section and is a member of the member of California Lawyers Association Labor & Employment Section Executive Committee. In 2013, he was elected a Fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers.

Mr. Robbins is a frequent author—most recently, having four articles relating to workplace investigations published by Matthew Bender and another (cover article) published by the State Bar of California and a number of articles published by AWI. In addition, he regularly lectures on employment issues – mostly concerning workplace investigations and also on accommodation issues.

Maribel Hernandez is passionate about helping businesses mitigate legal risks and achieve organizational success. Drawing on 16+ years of corporate legal experience she provides strategic legal guidance and partners with leadership to navigate complex regulatory frameworks. Working closely with teams across departments, she focuses on developing practical solutions in corporate governance, regulatory compliance, HR strategy, and contract and litigation management. Maribel’s experience spans technology, supply chain, retail, manufacturing, transportation and food & beverage sectors. As a volunteer Advisor to the California Lawyers Association’s Labor & Employment Section, shes had the opportunity of contributing to the Inhouse Practitioner’s Program. While working alongside talented HR professionals and In-House counsel, her focus was on building capabilities that help create more inclusive and legally sound workplaces.

Outside of Maribel’s professional role, she finds joy in spending time with family and friends, building and designing living spaces, and spending time with her toy poodle – experiences that help maintain perspective and balance.
