Legislative Lens is a monthly policy and legislative update series produced by the Family Law Executive Committee of the California Lawyers Association (CLA FLEXCOM). Hosted by Certified Family Law Specialists Leslie Abrigo and Shanon Quinley, the series breaks down key developments in California family law, proposed bills, policy updates, position letters, and issues shaping families statewide. Episodes may also feature special guests from the legal community, offering diverse perspectives on local community service and work, policy, practice, and emerging trends.

Shanon Quinley

Shanon Quinley serves as FLEXCOM’s Legislation Chair, a role that sits at the heart of the Section’s statewide policy impact. Shanon is now an instructor of Business Law and Paralegal Studies at Pasadena City College, following years of managing her own family law litigation practice in Pasadena. Her blend of practical courtroom experience and academic expertise gives her a nuanced perspective on how legislative changes affect families, litigants, and daily practice.

Leslie Abrigo

Leslie Abrigo, CLS-F is the 2025–2026 Chair of the California Lawyers Association Family Law Executive Committee. A founding partner of Genesis Family Law in San Diego, she specializes in complex financial matters and prenuptial and postnuptial agreements. She is the author of three books on prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, and the creator of Legislative Lens. Leslie is the driving force behind FLEXCOM’s shift to a subject-matter standing committee think-tank model, and the architect of FLEXCOM’s mentorship, scholarship, and leadership-development programs.
