Environmental Law
Chair Report
Hello, ELS Members.
We are a month away from our “We Go Together” Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Conference, which will be held on Friday, June 6 at Loyola Law School, with remote viewing locations in Sacramento, San Diego, and San Francisco, as well as a virtual option. This program held every few years is more important now than ever. We hope you are able to attend and participate in this low-cost, CLE program with opportunities to engage and network.
Last month, CLA issued a statement on the rule of law. “As California attorneys, we must stand together in support of the rule of law, which is the cornerstone of our democracy. Any erosion of this principle threatens the foundation of justice, equality, and freedom that we hold dear. We call upon all California attorneys to stand with us and uphold these fundamental values, ensuring that the law remains a safeguard for all.” The Environmental Law Section supports this statement and the rule of law.
A reminder that for the annual Environmental Law Conference at Yosemite®, scholarship applications are now open until June 9. Nominations for the Lifetime Achievement Award and Trailblazer Award close on May 16.
In this edition we pay tribute to Professor Harrison “Hap” Case Dunning, a wonderful teacher and friend.
