Event Details that Affect Sponsorships
- Budgeting– What is your sponsor revenue target, and how will you get there? What portion of your budget is from sponsorships, and is it a realistic number? Your budget also determines your sponsor level price points.
- Timeline– A multi-day event typically requires 5-6 months to properly market sponsorships. Give yourself enough time to contact sponsor prospects prior to the event.
- Event Schedule & Structure– Are you giving your sponsors enough “face time” for what they pay? Do they get plenty of exposure and leads for follow up? Create a value proposition for the sponsor.
Non-Dues Revenue Opportunities Besides Live Events
- Utilize your section emails and newsletters. Most likely your email platform allows advertising and is a low impact deliverable. Standalone emails are also highly effective and valuable to sponsors.
- Monetize your section webinars. Sponsors love to align with similar topics & be seen as industry thought leaders, plus it expands your knowledge base.
- Does your section have a journal or publication? Advertising can be an additional income source to help offset the production costs.
