Member Spotlight: Joseph Boufadel

Joseph Boufadel is a partner at Salvato Boufadel LLP, a boutique insolvency and business litigation firm in Southern California. He is a certified specialist in bankruptcy law by the State Bar of California, Board of Legal Specialization.
Joseph’s practice involves corporate-business disputes, corporate reorganizations, avoidance and nondischargeability actions, and other insolvency-related matters, with an emphasis on creditors’ rights and remedies and litigation in both California state courts and bankruptcy courts. Joseph also provides strategic insolvency-related advice to individuals, private companies, and attorneys, advising on litigation and insolvency matters and their related appeals.
Recently, Joseph was recognized by the American Bankruptcy Institute as one of the “40 Under 40” Emerging Leaders in Insolvency Practice (2024). Outside of his practice, Joseph is an active and involved member of the insolvency community and is currently serving on the Executive Committee of the Business Law Section as the Vice Chair for Member Services. Joseph is the immediate past Co-Chair of the Insolvency Law Committee of the Business Law Section and is a longstanding member of the Board of Directors for the Los Angeles Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, where he has organized and produced numerous programs as its conference chair for its annual bankruptcy ethics symposium. Joseph has also been a commissioner for the Bankruptcy Law Advisory Commission for the State Bar of California and a member of its working group, advising and assisting the California Board of Legal Specialization with its bi-annual legal specialization exams.
Joseph currently lives in Orange County with his wonderful wife and two young children. When not being a professional chauffeur for his children, Joseph enjoys supporting his teams, the Los Angeles Lakers and Arsenal (so close!).
