Member Spotlight: Soody Tronson

Soody Tronson is Founding Managing Counsel of STLG Law Firm, a boutique intellectual property practice recognized by Chambers as a top-tier boutique IP firm. With 25+ years at the intersection of law, technology, and business, including roles at large law firms, startups, and Fortune 100 companies, she counsels domestic and international clients in intellectual property, technology transactions, and regulatory compliance. A dedicated educator, she has lectured at Stanford University and the University of California on IP and entrepreneurship. Soody is an inventor on multiple patents and co-author of “Women Securing the Future with TIPPSS for IoT.” She holds an M.S. in Industrial Chemistry and a J.D., and is licensed in California, the District of Columbia, and before the USPTO. She is recognized by IAM’s Strategy 300 as a World-Leading IP Strategist and named among Silicon Valley Business Journal’s 100 Women of Influence.
Soody enjoys serving on the CLA Business Law Section Executive Committee, where she is Co-Chair of Programming, and chairs the Technology, Internet and Privacy Interest Group for the IP Law Section, having previously served on the IP Section Executive Committee. She is passionate about the collaborative opportunities CLA offers and values connecting with colleagues through CLE programming and thought leadership. Beyond CLA, she served as Board Chair of the Licensing Executives Society Silicon Valley and was appointed to the Northern California District Export Council by the Secretary of Commerce. An entrepreneur herself, she is the founder of Presque, a maternity health-tech startup recognized by the European Commission, and co-founder of HighNote Coffee. Committed to civic engagement and social good, she served as a Commissioner with the City of Menlo Park and actively volunteers with Defy Ventures and the California Perinatal Equity Initiative.
