Camille Lignieres

Camille Lignieres joined the Judiciary in 1994 after having graduated in Political Science and Private Law. She was in charge of civil, commercial and enforcement law matters for 19 years. In 2013, she joined the Paris Court of First Instance, in the Chamber specialising in Intellectual Property law, where she chaired as Presiding Judge of a panel. In 2019, she was appointed to the Paris Court of Appeal, in the Economic Law Chamber, in charge of Competition and Distribution Law disputes. Camille is currently a Legally Qualified Judge at the UPC Paris as Presiding Judge of the Paris Local Division, and she is a member of the Presidium of the UPC. 

Elisabetta Papa

Elisabetta Papa was appointed to the Unified Patent Court in June 2023. Her technical focus is in mechanical engineering, with a specialty in biomedical devices. Prior to being appointed, Elisabetta was a practicing European Patent Attorney with wide experience in Italian and European patent prosecution and litigation, including opposition and appeal procedures before the EPO. Elisabetta acts regularly as court-appointed expert in IP civil litigation. Additionally, Elisabetta is a tutor for the Center for International Intellectual Property Studies (CEIPI), former chair of the AIPLA IP Practice in Europe Committee and Vice-President of the Italian Institute of IP Attorneys.
