I. INTRODUCTION
The Executive Committee of the Trusts and Estates Section of the California Lawyers Association ("TEXCOM") has continued to propose bills to the Legislature and monitor and comment on other bills as they proceed through the Legislature. This article briefly summarizes the new relevant laws enacted in 2024, which amend, add, or delete code sections of the Probate Code and other codes that most impact trusts and estates practitioners. In 2024, TEXCOM introduced two bills through Affirmative Legislative Proposals (ALP) that impact planning and administration. TEXCOM also provided comments on bills that impact administration and litigation. This article is based on the Assembly Floor and Senate Floor’s analysis of select bills.
