Webinar: Time Out: The Story of the Peruvian Pisco

This program is intended to give the audience the Peruvian’s perspective on the worldwide legal battle for the registration of PISCO as a geographical indication.
It will include a summary of the different cases between Peru and Chile tried in India, Thailand, Australia, and the UK and explore the outcomes in the different jurisdictions. We will also summarize the international treaties regulating this IP rights of which Peru is a member.

Eliana Vilchez
Sheis an attorney from Universidad de Lima. She has earned the Master’s Degree in Intellectual Property from Universidad Austral, Argentina, and has followed studies in Copyright and Related Rights from UNESCO’s Regional Center for the Promotion of Books in Latin America and the Caribbean (CERLALC), from Universidad EAFIT, Colombia, as well as studies in Intellectual Property from Universidad Austral, Argentina. She is an active associate of the Inter-American Association of Intellectual Property (ASIPI) and a member of its Committee on Advertising and Intellectual Property in the digital world, exploitation, licensing and control. She has taught the courses of Ethics and Advertising Legislation in the departments of Graphic Design and Advertising at Instituto San Ignacio de Loyola and was assistant professor for the course Intellectual Property Law in the Law Department at Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos. Specialist in Competition and Intellectual Property, as well as in the legal aspects of the entertainment and music industries.
