Judge Swearing In Ceremony

California Judicial Officer Mentorship Program

Explore mentorship opportunities that guide and empower your pursuit of judicial service.

Connecting legal professionals with insight and experience to lead from the bench

The Judicial Officer Mentorship Program supports attorneys considering judicial service by connecting them with experienced judges and justices—both active and retired—who provide invaluable insight, guidance, and encouragement.

Through mentorship, participants can assess their readiness for the bench, explore strategies for professional growth, and gain a deeper understanding of the judicial appointment process.

Attorneys interested in participating are encouraged to apply directly through the Superior Court in the county where they are seeking appointment. Please note that each county may offer a variation of the program tailored to local needs, resources, and partnerships.

Find your local court below and check for available mentorship opportunities. This information is typically listed under the “General Information” section of each court’s website.
