Do you regularly ask your clients if they own firearms? As planners and administrators, when an estate includes firearms, specific issues must be addressed, such as, who can sell, transfer or inherit weapons? Who can legally transport firearms? Who can possess firearms? What are the background check requirements for beneficiaries? How must firearms be stored?
When can a trustee accept possession of firearms? And issues related to liability for not complying with Federal Firearms Licensing requirements. This presentation will provide estate planners as well as the attorneys representing administrators of the states and how to properly deal with in estate which owns firearms.

Kimberly R.
