Webinar: Carbon Risk and Green Finance

As the world plans for economic recovery following the global COVID-19 pandemic, major economies are looking to comprehensive strategies for addressing carbon risks and identifying green finance opportunities. This discussion features leading financial and legal experts who will provide valuable insights into such developments. Panelists will explain how different efforts have developed such as reporting frameworks, carbon footprints, taxonomies, scenario analysis and stress testing. Panelists will also exchange views on pending federal and state legislation.
Speakers:
Dave Jones – Director of Berkeley Law’s Climate Risk Initiative. He served as the California Insurance Commissioner where he led international climate risk efforts as the first Chair of the United Nations Sustainable Insurance Forum.
Veena Ramani – Senior Program Director for Ceres. She leads Ceres’ work on critical market levers that will help scale the transition to sustainable capital markets. She also oversees Ceres work to engage financial regulators on climate change as a systemic risk, under the umbrella of the Ceres Accelerator for Sustainable Capital Markets.
Curtis Ravenel – Senior Advisor to Mark Carney, COP26 Private Finance, co-leads the landmark Financial Stability Board Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosure and is a Distinguished Fellow in Sustainable Finance at ClimateWorks Foundation. He worked at Bloomberg LP for nearly 20 years and founded the Sustainable Business and Finance Group at the firm.
Moderator:
Aaron Ezroj – Author of Carbon Risk and Green Finance. He was a member of California’s delegation to the United Nations Climate Change Conference and managed carbon risk programs that the United Nations called groundbreaking.
