Letter from the Editor-in-Chief
THOMAS A. WARD
Editor-in-Chief of New Matter
WELCOME TO THE SPRING EDITION OF NEW MATTER for 2026. The cover of this edition shows an advertisement for the 2026 IP Institute to be held in San Francisco on March 20-21 at the Clift Royal Sonesta hotel. The IP institute provides a wonderful opportunity to fulfill State Bar requirements just before the March deadlineâwith up to 8 hours of MCLE credits.
This issue of New Matter includes two MCLE articles. For those needing the credits by the end of March, particularly specialty credits like ethics, we invite you to use the CLA’s website, which provides MCLE credits through reading a desired MCLE article posted online and taking test consisting of 20 true-false questions. Webinars providing MCLE credits are also available on the CLA website.
For this issue, I continue to thank our New Matter editorial staff for accomplishing the work to get this publication to you. In particular, thanks to Amanda Nye who is the Acquisition Editor, Anthony Craig and Leaf Williams who are Co-Production Editors, Dabney Eastham who is Senior Articles Editor, and Mike Rodenbaugh who is an IP executive committee member and New Matter editor.
