Leading wellness expert Patrick Krill will provide an overview of the findings of his recently published studies conducted with the CLA and DC Bar Association followed by moderating a panel with Justice Brian Currey, civil attorney Ryan Harrison and the Chair of CLA's Health and Wellness Committee, Sara Rief.  The discussion will include ways both the Bench and the Bar can support each other through wellness and civility. To kick off 2023 Well-being Week In Law, let’s focus on our physical well-being. Join us for a free virtual presentation from Performance Coach, Tom Legath, about injury prevention. Attendees will learn why injuries happen (which are often avoidable). Tom will help attendees improve their ability to listen to their body's messages about muscle and joint health so that they can make better training choices. The information will give attendees an opportunity to improve the results they get from their training and it will give them an opportunity to implement strategies to avoid future injury so they can play longer into life. In 2020, the California Lawyers Association (CLA) and the D.C. Bar announced their participation in a groundbreaking research project conducted by attorney mental health and well-being expert Patrick Krill and Dr. Justin Anker. The first phase of findings from the study, “Stress, drink, leave: An examination of gender-specific risk factors for mental health problems and attrition among licensed attorneys”, was released in 2021 shedding light on the disparate experiences of women practitioners.
