The 2019 CLA Annual Meeting
Lawyers from throughout California met in beautiful Monterey from October 10th – 12th for CLA’s Annual Meeting. The theme of the event was, “Navigating the Future for all California Attorneys.” The three-day event was packed with extensive CLE programming, networking opportunities, interactive sessions with CLA Leadership, keynote speakers, and an unforgettable night at the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
The Solo and Small Firm Section sponsored several CLE programs which were designed with our members in mind:
- Far from the Shallow: Management Tips for Solos and Small Firms
- The Many Hats Lawyers Wear: Owning a Solo or Small Firm Practice
- New Rules of Professional Conduct: Flat Fees and Conflict Checks
- Law Firm of the Future: Ethics of New Business Models
New SSF Section Officers
The Executive Committee of the Section met at the Annual Meeting, elected new officers, and began planning for the new year. Our new Section leaders are:

Also during the 2019 CLA Annual Meeting, CLA announced the election and appointment of new organization-wide officers and board members, who assumed their responsibilities the week of October 15th. The new officers and board members are:

Jeremy Evans has been an active member of the Executive Committee of the Solo and Small Firm Section for many years, and a strong advocate for solo and small firm practitioners within the State Bar and CLA. The Section is very pleased that he will now be serving the greater legal community as Vice President of the association.
