Message From the Section Chair
It is June, Summer is officially here this weekend and the world is back in full swing …well just about.
It is also National Pride Month celebrating LGBTQIA+ community and to commemorate the Stonewall Riots that took place in New York City on June 28, 1969 that became a tipping point for the gay liberation movement in the United States. The rainbow flag that has become synonymous with the LGBTQ community was actually designed by Gilbert Baker in 1978 and each color of the flag actually has a meaning: red for life, orange for healing, yellow for sunlight, green for nature, blue for harmony and violet for spirit.
We here at the CLA Solo and Small Firm section invite our members to celebrate diversity and inclusion in this year’s Pride events that are being held virtually and live all throughout California this month. Here are some links by region to check out for your community’s events and celebrations.

The SSF Section also is celebrating Richard Kaplan, who has been chosen as the SSF Section’s Attorney of the Year. Mr. Kaplan who is highlighted herein under our new SSF Spotlight for Attorney of the Month, is being provided with his award on the final day of the Solo Small Firm Summit being held June 24-25th.
