SSF Friends,
Happy New Year Solo Small Firm Members!!! I know I am thrilled to put 2020 behind me. Unfortunately, 2021 appears to be off to a rough start and while it is hard to watch our country and our citizens struggle on so many fronts, it has been amazing to see how the CLA and SSF communities have come together to support each other.
Of course, there is much going on behind the scenes with SSF section. Keep your eye out for exciting programing that we will be rolling out throughout the course of this year, including the return of the Solo Small Firm Symposium and an exciting collaboration with Law Practice Management Section. Of course, The Practitioner and Solo Advisor and our numerous webinars will keep you informed throughout the year. If wellness is one of your resolutions, there is still time to join us in the CLA Health & Wellness Challenge that includes a wealth of health resources and virtual fitness classes. You can find all the information about the challenge here. https://calawyers.org/health-and-wellness/#challenge. The February State Bar deadline is looming for those in the H-M category for reporting. If you need any of those hard to get last minute MCLE’s to report next month, check out our January webinar series here. https://calawyers.org/section/solo-and-small-firm/
I want to also take the opportunity to thank the SSF community. Over the last 3 months, we have had an amazing reception to our newly updated and published book: Opening and Managing a Law Office: Go Solo, Win Clients, and Be Your Own Boss. Over 47 prominent authors stepped up to create this book of more than 770 pages that educates attorneys on every aspect of opening a law firm, promoting, managing, to even how to wind it down. If you have questions, this book has the answers. Find it on Amazon, Barnes and Noble or Bookshop.org.
Last but certainly not least, while we look with hope at 2021 to get a return to some “normalcy”, this goal will not be reached instantly. I urge you all to please stay safe, well and as always please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like to get involved, need information, or have ideas to share.
Let’s make 2021 a fantastic year! #WeAreSSF
Your Chair,
Sabrina Green
