Sabrina Green, Chair, Solo and Small Firm Section
San Diego, CA
It is very hard to believe it is July and summer is in full swing. Here in San Diego, nearly everything had to close again at midnight on the 14th. Our hope that Covid would abate over the summer is unfortunately not the case and it looks like the fall will not be much of a relief. Large counties across the state have said school will not start in the fall on campus, but only online.
This is a hard time for parents, businesses and SSF attorneys across the state. The SSF Section and CLA have an abundance of information regarding how to keep your business going, technology for the remote office in addition to maintaining and even building your business during this pandemic period. In addition, we now have the Solo and Small Firm Section Online Community. Login and say hi to your fellow SSF members. Do not forget that as a member of the SSF Section, you have access to FastCase, a comprehensive database with a growing list of state and federal secondary sources which is highly competitive with Westlaw and LexisNexis, but free for you!
If you’re are just looking for a break and a chance to socialize and network with fellow attorneys throughout the State of California, join us every Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. for Coffee Chat. This is a CLA wide event and the link can be found on CLA’s home page.
Finally, mark your calendars. The Solo and Small Firm Summit, which was previously scheduled for June, has been moved to October 7th -8th. This event will be held virtually and has an excellent line up of programing and keynote speakers. We look forward to seeing you…or at least on your computer!
Stay safe and stay well.
