Our fighting men and women have workers’ compensation claims, too. They just have a different a forum in which to pursue them.
The number of veterans receiving monthly monetary benefits from the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) is rapidly approaching 5 million. In fiscal year 2016, $106.5 billion were paid out in compensation benefits. Between July 2012 and January 2018 the mean number of claims pending in the VBA system was 611,017.
