Workers’ Compensation

Ca. Workers' Comp. Quarterly 2015, Vol. 28, No. 3

The Workers’ Compensation Section is excited to offer its slate of programs to be presented during the State Bar’s 88th Annual Meeting, at the Sheraton Park Hotel Anaheim. For your convenience, all workers’ compensation programs are being held on Friday, October 9, 2015. Please register for these programs, which are described below.

Program 35 | 8:30 a.m.-10:00 a.m. Advanced Neurological Issues in Workers’ Compensation

The brain is mysterious, difficult, and daunting. Rating permanent injuries to the brain takes significant skill and understanding. This program will provide an overview of neurologic injuries, describe how to rate them using the AMA Guides, and address potential Almaraz-Guzman issues. The program also will cover the use of discovery to support or attack a neurologic complaint; how to detect malingering in neurologic patients; and how to prepare for a neurologist’s deposition.

Panelists: Jonathan Rutchik, M.D., and Mark Kimmel, M.D.
