We are already well into 2015, and the Solo and Small Firm Section has several items to report. The Los Angeles Winter Conference delivered three wonderful programs at the Los Angeles Bar offices, both in person and via live webcast. The programs included those hard-to-find CLE credits for bias and ethics, as well as a judges’ panel and delicious lunch catered by Arnie Morton’s. The individual programs are available for purchase through the State Bar’s website. The Summer Conference will take place at the San Francisco Bar offices on July 24th and will also feature three hours of CLE programming.

Our Law School Outreach committee continues to arrange presentations at law schools throughout the state, bringing practical advice to soon-to-graduate law students. The Bar is considering requiring candidates for the bar to have a minimum number of hours of practical skills training before they can be admitted to practice. Part of our mission is to provide opportunities for law students to be exposed to practical matters related to the practice of law and to support them on this challenging endeavor.
