Well, it has been one hell of a start to 2020. COVID-19 has rocked our world and we are experiencing a world like we have never experienced in our lifetime. Phrases like "social distancing" and "flattening the curve" are forever entwined in our vocabulary. When we write for The Practitioner, we usually have a month or two before this magazine is published and released. I am hoping by the time you are reading this edition, that the worst is over, and the warmth of summer may have helped stop the spread of the virus world-wide. Of course, I cannot know the future and this is just a hopeful wish as I write this message in April.

What I do know, and what history has already shown us, is how wonderful our community is and how honored I am to be an attorney, a member of the SSF Section and of the California Lawyers Association. During these unprecedented times, I have seen our section members step up throughout this pandemic ordeal by creating free programing to help our fellow section members navigate the remote workplace, educate businesses on what kind of aid is available, provide free advice seminars to educate employers and employees alike and volunteering to help out their communities in every way possible.
