By John M. Appelbaum*
The Public Law Section of the State Bar hosts two June conferences:
OPEN MEETING AND PUBLIC RECORDS ACT CONFERENCE AT UCLA ON THURSDAY, JUNE 2, 2016
The Public Law Section continues its tradition of offering California’s leading conference on the Brown Act and the Public Records Act. As of this publication date, the 2016 conference was set to feature pivotal updates for open meeting and Public Records Act requirements. This conference explores the unique challenges posed by serial meetings, agenda postings, continuing meetings, special meetings, and ad hoc committees. Panelists cover open meeting remedies, including how to avoid costly mistakes and minimizing legal exposure.
