Message from the Chair
By K. Scott Dickey*
For this Message from the Chair, I thought it would be helpful to update members on the many goings-on with the Section.
SAVE THE DATE:
The Section will be presenting its 2015 Ronald M. George Public Lawyer of the Year Award on October 9 at the State Bar’s Annual Conference. California Supreme Court Chief Justice Tani Cantil-Sakauye has again graciously agreed to present the award to this year’s recipient, Oakland City Attorney and civil rights activist Barbara Parker. The event is free, and the Section provides food and beverages. On that note, we are looking for sponsors; we offer sponsorship at Platinum ($2,500), Gold ($1,000), Silver ($500), and Bronze ($250) levels. Sponsors will appear on all advertisementsâwe run ads in The Recorder, the Daily Journal, the Annual Meeting program, and the program for the Annual California Women Lawyers’ dinnerâas well as in all signs at the event and in event press releases.
