From the Section Chair
By Reuben Ginsburg
Litigation Section committees provide opportunities for section members to enhance their professional development, network with colleagues, and make the most of their Section membership. This column highlights some of the committee activities available to you as a Section member.
The Jury Instructions Committee reviews and comments on proposed revisions to CACI civil jury instructions and verdict forms. The Judicial Council releases an invitation to comment on proposed CACI revisions twice each year, in January and July. The proposed revisions cover a variety of subjects ranging from contracts and negligence to products liability, insurance litigation, trade secrets, and more. By participating in the committee you can help to ensure CACI instructions are clear and comprehensible, up to date, and accurately state the law. In the process, you yourself get to keep current on the latest legal developments affecting these standard jury instructions. For more information on the Jury Instructions Committee please contact the committee chair, Reuben Ginsburg, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The ADR Committee educates Section members on new laws, ethical issues, and best practices concerning arbitration, mediation, negotiation, and other forms of alternative dispute resolution. The ADR Committee meets regularly to plan and present educational programs such as webinars and in-person seminars, and contributes articles to Section publications. Section members who are interested in serving on the committee are invited to contact the chair, Erica Bristol, at email@example.com.
