CHAIR’S COLUMN
Written by Adrieannette L. Ciccone
I am honored to serve as chair of the Litigation Section of the California Lawyers Association (CLA) for this bar year. The Litigation Section is one of the largest bar associations in the state with over approximately 6,000 current members. I have been actively involved with the Litigation Executive Committee (LEXCOMM) since I was selected for membership in 2018. Between 2018 and 2021, I worked on several programs, a social media campaign, and cofounded the Racial Justice Committee. In 2021, I was elected as secretary and have continued with my passion for serving the section’s membership.
Because your membership is the reason the Litigation Section exists, I welcome all of our new members and extend gratitude to our longstanding members. I am here to serve and ensure that the Litigation Section meets the goals that CLA has for this year. A fun fact is that the acronym for CLA is comprised of my own initials â ALC. I am thrilled about this acronym’s coincidence!
This bar year, CLA has the following goals: C â Connect (forge meaningful connections with our members and leaders, statewide and beyond, through webinars, events, and online engagement); L â Lead (inspire action through speaking opportunities, mentorship, scholarly articles, and more); A â Achieve (personal growth, professional development, and excellence in the practice of law).
