INTRODUCING
Laura Ziegler Davis
Laura Ziegler Davis is a Senior Regional Attorney in the Office of the General Counsel of the California Public Employment Relations Board (PERB), in its San Francisco Regional Office located in Oakland. PERB is a neutral quasi-judicial agency that adjudicates and mediates labor disputes in the public sector. In her current position, Ms. Davis evaluates, investigates, and responds to charges of unfair labor practices filed with PERB. She mediates and settles disputes in cases where the General Counsel issues complaints and investigates and ensures compliance with PERB’s decisions. In addition, she investigates and processes requests for representation, severance, or decertification; conducts elections to determine exclusive representatives; and handles and assists in appellate matters. Ms. Davis was a recipient of PERB’s Superior Performance Recognition award in 2014 and 2015 for her work. She has been with PERB since 2007.
Prior to this, Ms. Davis worked both in other public sector entities and in the private sector, including as an Industrial Relations Counsel III with the Department of Industrial Relations and as an associate attorney with the Law Offices of Robert J. Bezemek in Oakland.
Ms. Davis received a double B.A. degree in Psychology and Interdisciplinary Legal Studies from the State University of New York at Buffalo and a J.D. from Golden Gate University Law School in San Francisco.
