INTRODUCING
Ana de Alba is a shareholder at the law firm of Lang, Richert & Patch, where she specializes in employment litigation. Ms. de Alba represents clients in federal and state courts in employment-related matters including wrongful termination, discrimination, sexual harassment, Unruh Act violations, wage and hour issues, and the ADA, ADEA, FMLA, and CFRA. She also represents clients in adversary proceedings before governmental administrative boards, including the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement (Labor Commissioner), the Department of Fair Employment and Housing, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the Employment Development Department.
In addition to her busy practice, Ms. de Alba sits on numerous boards, including: Legal Aid at Work; Rape Counseling Services; California Rural Legal Assistance, Inc.; Central California Access to Justice Coalition; Fresno County Bar AssociationâPro Bono Services Section (Chair); and the California State Bar Pro Bono Coordination Committee. Ms. de Alba also helped found the Fresno Workers’ Rights Clinic in collaboration with Legal Aid at Work, Central California Legal Services, and the Consulate of Mexico in Fresno in 2012.
Ms. de Alba earned her B.A. in Spanish and Political Economy of Industrial Society from the University of California at Berkeley in 2002 and her J.D. from the University of California at Berkeley School of Law in 2007.
Kevin K. Hosn is a Deputy Attorney General at the California Attorney General’s Office in Los Angeles. He has nearly twenty years of civil litigation experience in the state and federal courts. Mr. Hosn focuses on defending state agencies in employment matters at administrative hearings, trials, and through appeals. He has argued in the California Supreme Court and Courts of Appeal. Prior to joining the California Attorney General’s Office, Mr. Hosn worked as a Trial Attorney at the United States Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. At the Justice Department, he investigated and litigated federal civil rights claims against local and state governments in approximately thirty federal districts. Mr. Hosn has also worked as an associate attorney in civil litigation firms in Southern California, as an in-house attorney in the legal department of a large corporation, and as a judicial extern to two bankruptcy judges.
