MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIR

"Delivering Diverse Perspectives" is the headline of our section’s webpage. One could argue that, to be successful labor and employment law practitioners, we must promote that standard.
As we commemorate our 40th year as California’s leading association for labor and employment law professionals, I want to emphasize that our section has demonstrated adherence to this motto over the years. Indeed, as an Iranian immigrant escaping a war zone in the 1980s, who was suddenly sitting in a sixth grade classroom in Central California learning the English alphabet, I did not envision one day becoming the chair of this section’s executive committee. But I strongly believe in this section’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusionâwhich inspired me to join its executive committee and to collaborate with colleagues in the diversity subcommittee.
