Labor and Employment Law

Ca. Labor & Emp't Rev. JULY 2024, VOLUME 38, NUMBER 4

MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIR

AUTHOR*

Kevin Hosn

As Chair, I am honored to share with you the hard work of the Executive Committee over the past year—including three annual in-person conferences: the 40th Annual Meeting and the Advanced Wage and Hour Conference in July 2024, and the Public Sector Conference, which was held in May 2024. We are pleased to resume full in-person programing.

This May, our Executive Committee, led by Katie Mola, hosted a full capacity 29th Public Sector Conference in Sacramento. The conference planning committee brought in a wide variety of diverse speakers who covered issues including police reform, government tort claims, religious liberty in the workplace, Public Employee Relations Board updates, wage and hour in the public sector, strikes, latest developments in public sector employment law, and whistleblowers in the public sector. The successful conference was followed by a well attended networking reception. Thank you to our panel speakers, conference organizers and staff, as well as attendees for participating. We will return to Sacramento in the Spring of 2025 for the 30th Public Sector Conference.
